What is the Medical Reserve Corps?
The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. Within our region of the Metro Regional Preparedness Coalition, Region 4AB, there are 7 MRC Units, each run by an MRC Coordinator. Sherborn is a part of the Middlefolk Local Public Health Coalition MRC Unit. Other towns in the Middlefolk Coalition include Ashland, Dover, Framingham, Hopkinton, Medfield, Millis, Norfolk, and Wrentham.
Who is in the Medical Reserve Corps?
Anybody can volunteer with the MRC and current volunteers include medical and public health professionals, as well as other community members without healthcare backgrounds. Anyone over the age of 18 can sign-up to become an MRC volunteer and gain valuable skills, attend trainings, and join a network of likeminded neighbors who are also invested in helping their community.
