Sherborn Power Choice is our town's electricity aggregation program, a group electricity purchasing contract that aims to get Sherborn residents access to cleaner and cheaper sources of electricity.
Sherborn buys electricity from an electricity supplier the town chooses, you receive a new price for the electricity supply charge on your Eversource bill, and Eversource remains Sherborn’s electric utility and continues to deliver your electricity, address power outages, and handle all billing.
Our current supplier, Gridwealth, offers more renewable energy and more stable prices than Eversource basic service. Starting in August 2025, residents on the automatically-enrolled Standard plan pay 0.838 cents less per kilowatt hour than Eversource customers. This price is fixed until June 2026, unlike Eversource prices, which is fixed through January 31, 2026 -- savings beyond that date cannot be guaranteed.
This supply is comprised of Eversource's standard 63% wind, solar, landfill gas, nuclear, hydroelectricity, waste combustion, plus an extra 50% wind and solar sources feeding the grid that Gridwealth brokers.
Make sure you're enrolled by checking that Sherborn Power Choice Gridwealth is listed as the Supplier on your Eversource bill.
The Town submitted its petition for approval of its municipal aggregation plan to the Department of Public Utilities in 2021. The complete case file also may be accessed through the DPU File Room under Dockets/Filings in Docket Number 21-55.
