Fire Investigation Unit (FIU)

Under the direction of Chief Ward and Lt. Ryan Cheney, the SFRD Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) responds to all fires in the Town and is available 24 hours a day to investigate any fire related incident. The duties of the fire investigators include structure fires, motor vehicle fires and reports, burns, explosions, documentation, photographs and enforcement of laws and statutes related to fires & investigations.

Every year, the SFRD investigates several fires including building fires, vehicle fires, brush fires and many other types of fires as needed.

The FIU works in conjunction with the Sherborn PD, MA Fire District 14 FIU and the MA State Police.
